What is a Nutrition Therapy?
In short... Nutrition Therapy is the improvement of your cellular activity through nutrition for optimum health. "Nutrition Therapy is much more than nutrition information, it's Health Transformation!"

What is a Nutrition Deficiency Assessment and why should I have one?
The Nutritional Deficiencies Assessment™ can alert you if you have frequent symptoms that could be linked to a potential nutrient deficiency based on association studies. It is one of the many unique and valuable tools I use to help my clients on the road to health and wellness.

What is a personal "Top Foods" list and why do I need one?
Once you have completed the Nutritional Deficiencies Assessment™, I will complete your Individually customized "Diet Planning Worksheet" with the following information: The Required Foods Identifier. This lists the "top foods" containing your required nutrients. The Adversaries Identifier. This lists the “adversaries” that hinder the absorption or utilization of your  required nutrients. The Promoters Identifier. This lists the “promoters” that support the absorption and bioavailability of your required nutrients. This is another valuable tool I provide for my clients to help them on the road to better health to Eat, Feel and "Live Better".

What is an Antioxidant Capacity Assessment?
Our ability to stay free of disease greatly depends on the balance between our exposure to harmful free radicals and our intake of protective antioxidants. As the scales start to tip away from health, early warning signs start to develop, such as frequent infections, difficulty fighting an infection, easy bruising, slow healing, thinner skin, or excessive wrinkles for your age. Another sign of impaired antioxidant status is a reduced ability to detoxify the body after an onslaught of free radicals. So, for example, if you feel groggy or achy after a burst of exercise or after exposure to pollution (such as being stuck in a traffic jam or a room full of cigarette smoke), your antioxidant potential may need a boost.

Will the evaluations and assessments diagnose my health conditions?
Nutritional evaluations and lifestyle assessments are not meant to “diagnose” a deficiency, an ailment, a condition, or a disease, NOR to replace medical advice. If you have significant symptoms or any health concerns, you should always consult a medical doctor immediately. Rather, these are intended as a guide for the development of a nutritional program and used to monitor progress in achieving health and wellness goals.

What is the Importance of Personalized Nutrition?
Every person is unique, has an individual set of dietary requirements and has very specific needs for his or her own health. The science behind personalized nutritional advice is incredibly extensive and is focused on the individual. There is a great deal to communicate to you about it than what I will have a chance to get to here, but please take the time to understand the basics. If you embark on a personalized plan with me, there will be a lot more information that I will be sharing with you – primarily about you. In the meantime, please accept my assurances that reading this will be worth it.

“Everyone has a different biochemistry, genetic makeup and nutrient needs, so what works for you, may not work for someone else.”

When it comes to health and nutrition, what works for one person, can have little to no effect on a second person, and can actually make a third person worse. Practitioners of nutrition encounter this scenario at some point: They read something in the news and how it was successful in helping people. They put it forward to a client and it works wonderfully, but then when recommending the same protocol to another client, they discover that it fails. The problem is: many people follow “hear-say” or recommend what worked for them (which may not work for someone else), leaving out the person’s unique situation and nutrient needs. Most of us can relate to this. It is exactly the same experience of the person trying to lose weight by trying a friend’s successful weight-loss system, only to find that it causes weight-gain instead.

If only we could find the same magic solution for everyone!

It is a tremendous irony that we find ourselves amongst an extraordinary information overload with the internet. However, instead of bringing greater clarity, we find the confusion only deepening. More books and websites than ever before are available on diet and nutrition. Yet, everywhere we look, we find contradictions. One nutritional expert says one thing; another expert says just the opposite. Information is at our fingertips, but what does it mean in terms of practical application in an individual case? Where is the framework or the reference point from which sense can be made of the virtually endless stream of seemingly unrelated and contradictory pieces of information?

It is not possible to offer one single nutritional protocol that works for everyone.

Why? Because everyone’s biochemistry is different. Even between people within the same family and with similar genetics! There is no “universal” diet plan that is right for absolutely everyone. And that means that we need to look at the individual and evaluate what works for that individual specifically.

As a Certified Nutritional Therapist (CNT), I utilize the best science-based tools available for use with my clients to help identify nutrient deficiencies, pinpoint the unique needs of each individual and provide personalized health and nutritional advice.
